Eric A. Thomas
Eric A. Thomas is a United States Military Veteran who is enthusiastic about efficient business operations and closing the deal. Eric is an Associate Attorney in the Business & Corporate Law, Business Succession Planning, Real Estate Law, Estates & Trusts, and Equine Law Practice Groups at The Lynch Law Group.
His Corporate practice primarily consists of serving as General Counsel for business owners advising on business succession planning and preparation of necessary documents to meet corporate governance compliance and operational needs. Eric also concentrates on franchising to include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating franchise agreements, and SaaS agreements, including navigating stock purchases, stock transfers, asset purchases, and membership interest purchases. Eric has an extensive background in corporate business settings and utilizes his vast knowledge of the insurance industry to negotiate, settle, and litigate business matters.
On the Real Estate side of his practice, Eric integrates his business knowledge to assist individuals and business owners with strategic planning related to owning, managing, and selling real estate such as investment properties. He also reviews, prepares, and negotiates agreements of sale, residential leases, and commercial leases on behalf of commercial property owners and tenants.
Eric’s Estates and Trusts practice consists of the preparation of basic estate planning documents with a focus on business succession planning, including Wills, Business Trusts, Durable Power of Attorney, Healthcare Power of Attorney, Living Will, Revocable Trusts, and HIPAA Authorization. His Estates and Trusts clients range from young professionals and couples who are planning for the future, to successful business owners who are thinking about the succession of their legacy.
Eric serves on the Pennsylvania Bar Association Veteran Affairs Committee and the Allegheny County Bar Association Corporate, Banking, and Business Law Committee. He is also a Thomson’s and Reuters Rising Stars by Super Lawyers. While up to five percent of the lawyers in each state are recognized as Super Lawyers, less than 2.5% are named to the Rising Stars List.
Outside of work, Eric loves to golf, work on cars, read, and referee youth basketball.
